GETTING STARTED

When you start this program, the Music Base Window will be appear. Now you can do:

1. If your music files are unsorted, whether they are in one folder/partition or everywhere on your hard disk(s), then this program will be very helpful, by processing files first, then locating them by folders (genres, artist, albums, years) just like i described it on introduction page. You can now (or later) define the main folder of Music Base (just click on MB), and in there this program will move & sort all of your music files. Click on Show Processing Window in order to switch to the Processing Window.
   
2. Or if you already sort your music in folders, in one main folder (example "D:\Music\"), with it's subfolders genres of music, then in those subfolders artists, then again in that subfolder albums or years folders (actually, this is not a must, the files may be directly in artists subfolders), then simply click on MB and select your main folder which will then also be the folder for the Music Base. After you press OK, in first list from left, names of folders (genres folders) will appear.For further instructions about using Music Base Window follow link .

PROCESSING MUSIC FILES

Processing will do by next steps :

Step 1: Making list of files for processing - Before click on button Add Folder for addition music files from select folder to main list, with click on icon right from Add Folder will be appear frame for set extensions of the music files. Here you can choose and change extensions of the music files.

Refresh M. Base List when this is checked then Step1:Add Folder read names of every files in Music Base folder and making virtual list. This files don't appears on main list, it 's use only for searching duplicates and comparison in the Artist Menagment. This checkbox will be auto checked after clear main list with Clear List and auto unchecked after ADD, since don't have sense to read Music Base list more times than once.

Clear M. Base List clear the virtual list of files in Music Base. This you can use when you want to put files from Music Base on main list for processing like a new music. Also if you have a many files in Music Base, program start faster when that list is empty.

For Step1:Add Folder exist blockade from listing same folder more times. That protect from an appearance of the same files on main list.

In top right corner is the number of files on the main list and under it's altogether size of the new files in bytes.

Other files: Click on this, instead of the music files appear the list of files with different extensions from the music files. Double click on this list will open a selected file with a default program. Buttons are:

• Delete remove selected files to Recycle Bin .
• Move To remove selected files to selected folder .

This is convenes for "clearance" of music folders. Click on Music Files will back as to main list of music files.

Basic functions :

• For program, by default, artist is a part of filename to first streak, title is other part without that first streak. This you can test in Check + Fix and change if you have need.
• Selecting more items on whatever list with the right mouse click .
• After move mouse cursor over a whatever list, that list will be activated .
• Keys left - right on keyboard removes playing song 10 seconds forward -backward .

Main buttons :

• Delete ( on keyboard Shift(Ctrl) + Del ) - remove selected files on main list to Recycle Bin.
• Rename ( on keyboard Enter ) - If you a select only one file, this will rename the filename by text from text box under main list, for more selected files renames an artist part of a every selected files (part of file name to fist streak) by artist in text box ( also part to first streak ), only last selected file by all text in text box. When you typing artist name, under a text box appears new list of an artists in Music Base or main list, who starts with same letters. Click on that list put artist in text box, double click rename file(s).
• F ( on keyboard F12 ) - Change Syntax (upper case, lower case, space around streaks) in text box. The kind of syntax choose in Settings .
• Example : Easy put names of songs to files ripped from audio CD which don't have support on net. After you every files from new songs (Track 1.mp3, Track 2.mp3 etc.) put on main list, select the first file from top, type name in a text box, with don't attend to upper or lower case, spaces around streaks, then press F12 and after, if syntax is proper, Enter, then press Down on keyboard, type name of the next song etc. If an every songs have the same artist, type only name without artist , then lastly select all files, type name of artist ahead text in text box, next Enter .
• Remove Year Number - remove four-digits number from selected filenamess. If it's checked in Settings checkbox Insert Removed Numbers Into ID3 then a removed numbers goes to tag Year.
• Remove Track Number- remove one-digits or two-digits number from names of selected files. If it's checked in Settings checkbox Insert Removed Numbers Into ID3 then removed numbers goes to tag Track.
• Replace Artist - Title - if part of filename to first streak is a title and other part is an artist .
• Remove String - remove input string from a selected filenames. You can mark a string by selecting it in the filename textbox.
• FN --> ID3 - update id3 tags from the filename. Artist and title part of filename goes to the id3 tags.
• FN <-- ID3 - update filename from id3 tags. Id3 tags goes to artist and title part of the filename.
• Update - type new names for a tags in text box , check left checkbox for update ID3 V1, right for ID3 V2, then click on button Update. If you select more files on the main list, then check checkbox from tag which you want to change in an every selected files, type a new name, then Update.
• UNDO - restore last change (restore files from Recycle Bin, filenames, id3 tags).
• Undo Name - restore name to text box from selected file. If are more files selected, restore his filenames.

Step 2: Search and repair a bad filenames and tags - It scan files from top of the main list. The first click on Options right from button Check +Fix will open a frame with the criterion of searching:

• Check Filename Syntax - Test a correctness of syntax. If Auto Change not checked program will ask you with suggestion to confirm a change name.
• Check For Numbers - Test if a filename have numbers, part artist (checked Artist) or part title (checked Title). When is a found such file, if numbers are a track or year then click on the buttons Remove Track Number or Remove Year Number. The numbers will be removed to an ID3 tag V1 and V2 if checked Insert Removed Numbers Into ID3 in Settings.
• Check Existance Of Artist In Filename - Test for exist artist in file name, apropos exist streak in file name.
• Check Who Is Artist - if name of file have two or more streak, it is possibly that artist not part to first streak like default (D-Devils , E-Type etc.), then program offer selection between every possibly artist in name. You can select more files and select new artist for every . If artist already by default , just continue search.
• Check Difference Without Filename and ID3 - Test if artist and title from file name match with artist and title in ID3 V1 and ID3 V2 tags. This is import because on winamp playlist appears artist and title from id3 tag, if file have him. If not checked Auto Change, program will ask if have difference. If checked you can select Dominant Filename (tag will change to name of file) or Dominant ID3 Tag (name of file will change to id3 tag).

Check+Fix - after close frame of options, click this button for start of searching. Suggestion which we choose, double click on him for rename file name or tag.

Undo - left from Check+Fix restore all changes from last start searching.

• next - click on this button for search next.
• prev. - if you something mistake, restore last change and ask previously question.
• x - exit from searching.

  If you want to skip, select on main list where you want to start next search. If turn off program while searching, when next time start, him will continue where is stopped. During search program read id3 tags..

Step 3: Arrangement files by artist - Click on Merger Of Artist From Filename, after period of search, will be appear two new list, left for artist, right for titles. From right side of items both list are property of location :

* OLD - mean to files of artist or title be in Music Base. Not on main list.
* O&N - (only for artist) mean to files of artist be in Music Base and in main list .
* NEW - mean to artist don't exist in Music Base and files are on main list, rather it is new files.

Button N find next item on list with property NEW or N&O from selected item to down.

* Delete Artist - removes every files with selected artist .
* Rename Artist - rename artist part of file names by text in artist text box. If selected more artist then appears new list under artist text box, where we choose new name for all selected artist. This is good if on list are two same artist with different names.
* Delete File(s) - removes files selected on title list to Recycle Bin.
* Rename File(s) - rename file with selected title to name from artist text box and title text box . If selected more titles rename his artist to artist text box.
* UNDO - restore last change.
* <-> - replace text in text boxes. Use if appears some title in artist list or some artist in title list.

Step 4: Searching duplicates - Click on options will be appear a frame where you can choose the kind of searching :

• Similar Filename - search any same part of file names.
• Complete Same(Without Numbers) - search same filenames, may be different only in numbers.
• Same Filesize - same length in bytes

  Find Duplicates - start searching from top of main list.

  When program find some duplicate, put it to list where it playing alternate from half in duration of a 5 seconds, so you can hear and with double click delete one (to Recycle Bin).

• next - click for search next ..
• prev. - If randomly delete wrong file this command restore files from Recycle Bin and again offer choice.

  If you want to skip, select on the main list where you want to start next search. Also, if you turn off the program while searching, when start next time, program will continue there where is stopped.

Step 5: Hide Processing Window and show window of Music Base and New Music Files window -

• Assort Files Per Folders - Click on this button, do step 5.

MOVING MUSIC FILES INTO APPROPRIATE FOLDERS

On window New Music Files if enabled first click:

• scan ID3 - for the read of ID3 tags in every files. If it not enabled that means that all ID3 tags has been allready readed. This is fast if you are not interrupt a Check+Fix procedure, since then also read. Otherwise will be remain, it depends from the number of the files.

  In top right corner is:

• New - number of the files which is rest to move.
• Need - need of a free space on the HD ( 0 kb if are new songs and folder of Music Base on the same partition.)
• Free - free space on partition where Music Base foder. This field got start red if are less free from need space. Then you must free some space on that partition.

  On window are next lists:

  GENRE (First list) - are genus of music found in:

  • ID3 tag or
  • FOLDER- in folders .

  ARTIST (Second list) - when select some item on first list, here appear every artist with selected tags or selected folder. Artist are from names of files. When select artist on this list, if exist folder with his name in folder of Music Base, him will be appear and select in down list in window of Music Base.

  ALBUM - YEAR (Third list) - are with:

  • ID3 tag - combination album + 2 space + year from id3 tag.
  • FOLDER - list of folders where are files of selected artist.

TITLE (Fourth list) - list of title from names of files from selected items third list.

Under list are buttons:

• Name - Create folder with name of selected item in appropriate folder in Music Base i.e. to name of selected item appear in down list in Music Base window.
• Move - in the case of first three list make folders to selected folders in Music Base by selected items in lists and moves appropriate files to him, in case of fourth only move files. In list of Music Base (destination list), you can select only one item (folder), where you want make new folders and moving files.
• H - show and hide buttons for Delete and Rename filenames and tags of files groups.
• Undo - restore everything you do with buttons right from this.

MUSIC BASE WINDOW AND MAKING WINAMP PLAYLISTS

Menu of Music Base Window :

• Show Processing Window - appear Processing Window.
• Show New Music Files Window (Hide New Music Files Window) - show (hide) up window (New Music Files) for moving files to base.
• In Options we have:
  • Locate Winamp - for definition location of winamp.exe file or exe file some other player. By default this is "c:\Program Files\Winamp\winamp.exe".
  • Play on Winamp - when this checked, selected song in Music Base window are play in winamp.
  • List 1 - 4 - with Font Properties we choose kind, color and size of letters, with Background Color color of list.
  • Show Artist In Title List - when this checked, in fourth list of Music Base appear and artist ,not only title, i.e. appear all name of files.
  • Play With One Click-when this checked, at choose some item on genre or artist list with one click, auto start playing last selected song from title list.
• Help - contain usual stuff.

In Music Base Window first three list are folders, fourth list is list of songs in selected folders from third list. When there selected Without Album, on fourth (title) list appears songs from selected folder(s) on second (artist) list without folders in him.

On Album-Year list, items are sorted by last four letters of string which should represent year of album in that folder.

For playing the song do double click on item in title list.

For fast found item on any list, move mouse cursor over that list and start typing a item on the keyboard until it not appear selected on the list..

Under an every list you have the buttons:

• Ren - renames the folder or file. (on the keyboard Enter )
• Del - removes a selected files or folders in the Recycle Bin . (on the keyboard only Del)
• New - creates a new folder and appear it on the list.

H - turn on/off status for create playlists and playing a music on the winamp, hide the menu and buttons which are under the lists.

Y - select the years of music which you want to see in the Music Base Window. It's depend from the last four strings in the names of album folders(year).

amp - show and hide buttons for the making Winamp playlists:

• New - clear the current list in the Winamp.
• Add - add every songs from selected folders or selected songs from fourth list on the Winamp list (on keyboard +). It auto starting the Winamp if not turn on.

PUBLISH YOUR MUSIC LIST ON THE WEB PAGE

When you finish a Music Base making, you can show it everyone by publishing on the internet FREE.

In the Music Base Window on the menu, select Tools, Publish Music Base On Internet :

• Go ! - open local page (from your computer) where you can see what program send and with button submit go to the accept page. There you can a choose the username and password and update the list of your music on the internet server. After that, your Music Base will appears on http://musicfilesbatch.6te.net/pmb . The same procedure you can use when you want to update changes on your published music base.
• Set Accept Page - there you can change the web site where you want to publish the Music Base.
• Visit Main Publish Music Base Page - simple go to http://musicfilesbatch.6te.net/pmb .

When you find a more music from some CD or the internet, the first you do it's to copy in some folder of the partition, where are and the folder of Music Base, because it's much faster to move new music files to Music Base. Then start processing like up is descripted (Processing Music Files).
